Sunday School

Mission Statement:
Centenary United Methodist Church seeks to provide a Sunday School program that fosters a life-long relationship in Jesus Christ. Through small group settings such as Sunday School we seek to offer a warm and safe environment that encourages growth in Christ through fellowship and study. Sunday School (for all ages) begins at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings before worship.
 
All Children’s classes are located on the basement level of the church (Level 1). These classes include:
Nursery 1: Care for infants through age 1 provided by paid staff – assisted by parent volunteers.
 
Nursery 2: Care for toddlers age 1 through 2 provided by paid staff – assisted by parent volunteers.

Three, Four & Five Year Old Class:
Children enjoy song, play, and Bible Lessons. Leaders: Peggy Thompson, Staci Schilling,

Kindergarten through First Grade Class:
Children formulate beliefs through song, study, and activity. Leaders: Gaye Atkinson and Mary Claire Schilling

Second & Third Grade Class:
Energetic and curious, these children seek to uncover the treasures of faith through song and study. Leader: Laurie Lewis

Fourth, Fifth, & Sixth Grade Class:
Students discover the love of Christ in study and experiential learning. Leader: Charlie Lewis
 
Youth Sunday School Classes meet in the Youth House on Maryland Ave.
Junior High and Senior High Class – Leaders: Charles Dowdy, Jay and Andrea Sanders
 
ADULT CLASSES:
Men’s Bible Class: Agroup engaged in topical studies. Sanctuary Level 2
 
Oliver Emmerich Class: A group of senior adults (male, female, couples, singles) engaged in study and fellowship and in and beyond the classroom. Curriculum is Adult Bible Study series. Leader: Connie Felter –Sanctuary Level 2
 
Fesmire Class: Class of caring adults (male, female, couples, singles) who engage in topical and relational studies as well as the Adult Bible Study series. Leader: Jim Hancock
Sanctuary Level 2
 
Grace Class: Women’s Bible Study (all ages, married, singles) seeking biblically based answers for life. Rotating Leaders– Third Floor Library
 
Pairs ‘N Spares Class: A class welcoming all ages (male, female, married, singles) through study of the Adult Bible Study series. Leader: Don Magee – Third Floor
 
Great Expectations Class: Adult class reaching out to adults (male, female, married, single) building a faith walk through study and fellowship. Rotating Leaders
