Spiritual Formation/Discipleship
The following groups and/or activities seek to engage all persons in opportunities for spiritual growth, as they seek to live in personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
WEDNESDAY ACTIVITIES: children meet at 6:00 p.m. for choir and activities; youth meet at 6:00 p.m. for studies at the youth house. Adults meet at 6:00 p.m. for discipleship/small groups and once a month a church-wide potluck meal and other special events are held.
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN: Officially called BYKOTA (Be ye kind one to another) – this circle meets bi-monthly on the 2nd and 4th Monday mornings, rotating in the homes of members. These ladies participate in the suggested UMW yearly studies – President: Nancy Hensarling
39’ERS CLUB: Senior adults meet monthly (4th Tuesday) – share a meal and program as well as travels and sightseeing.
CECILIAN CIRCLE: A ladies organization formed to support and serve the ministry needs of Centenary United Methodist Church – President: Nancy Felder (meet 1st Thursday of month (Sept-May)
CURSILLO/EMMAUS MCCOMB COMMUNITY: Groups from area churches who have participated in a Cursillo/Emmaus weekend gather for a meal, program, and/or work project. Local Rector as: Renan and Jane Richmond
SMALL GROUP STUDIES: Various short term studies designed to foster relationships and to promote discipleship.
FAMILY MINISTRIES: This ministry area seeks to provide opportunities for families to come together for special times of food, fellowship, and spiritual uplifting. Pot-luck dinners, picnics and special services are some things that are a part of this ministry area.
